Lorna “Cookie” Carlson is the founder of Denver-Wellness Community, a trauma-informed wellness organization dedicated to nervous system regulation, safety, and sustainable healing. Drawing from her lived experience with trauma, burnout and professional training, Lorna works with individuals and organizations impacted by chronic stress, burnout, trauma, and high-demand environments.
Her work blends neuroscience-informed education with gentle, embodied practices such as mindful movement, sound-based regulation, and AcuDetox-informed approaches. Rather than focusing on motivation or mindset, Lorna helps clients understand stress through the body—offering practical tools that can be used immediately, without requiring personal disclosure.
Her work is especially valued by veterans, first responders, healthcare professionals, and women in leadership, and is known for being accessible, grounding, and deeply human.
Mission Statement — Denver-Wellness Community
My mission is to create safe, grounded spaces where people can slow down, reconnect with their bodies, and begin healing without pressure or performance. Through trauma-informed practices, community, and nervous system care, I support others in restoring balance, resilience, and a sense of belonging—one moment of presence at a time.
